Error Code Possible Cause Customer Correction Detailed Troubleshooting
001- 1 Internal Voltage exceeded limits. 1.      Restart system.

2.      If problem still exists, try another handpiece.

3.      Call Palomar Service.

1.     Check +12vdc at J3 interconnect board. (11.4 to 12.6vdc.) If not in range, replace Large Condor (GSM28-12) power supply on ThermoController bd assy.

2.      If voltage ok, replace display module.

001- 2 Internal Voltage exceeded limits. 1.      Restart system.  If problem still exists, try another handpiece.

2.      Turn off power switch at the back of the system.  Let system cool off for 5 minutes.

3.      Restart system.

4.      Call Palomar service.

1.     Check +5vdc from Voltage Regulator Bd Assy to System Interconnect Bd. Assy. J4 pin 9.

2.      If +5 is supplied to Display Module, let system sit in keyswitch mode while monitoring +5v.

3.      If the +5v shuts off, call Palomar service.

001- 3 Not used. Not used. Not Used.
001- 4 System Cabinet temperature exceeds allowable limit. 1.      Restart system.

2.      Ensure that air intake and exhaust are not obstructed.

3.      Cool room down below 80o F.  Let system cool down.

4.      Call Palomar service.

1.     Using System Debug Software, Check Cabinet Temperature Sensor for correct operation.

2.     If temperature is wrong, ensure that the System Interconnect board is properly mounted and the connector is fully connected to the Interface board.

001- 5 Handpiece is disconnected from the system. 1.     Shut down system and reconnect handpiece

2.     Try another handpiece.

3.      Call Palomar service

1.     Check wiring on handpiece.

2.     Check wiring J4 interface board.

001- 6 Remote Interlock Connector not plugged in. 1.     Install Remote Interlock Connector in back of the system.

2.     Call Palomar Service.

1.     Check Remote Interlock harness and connector.
001- 7 Emergency stop button is pushed in. 1.     Turn off the power switch at the rear of the system.

2.     Release Emergency stop button by turning red knob clockwise in same direction as arrow.

3.     Restart system.

4.     Call Palomar service.

1.   Check EMO harness and connector.

2.   Check EMO switch.

Sw Closed = System On.

(button pulled out)

Sw Open = System Off.

001- 14 System Handpiece Cooltip thermal sensor disconnected or temperature between two thermistors greater than 4o C. 1.     Let the system cool down.

2.     Restart the system.

1.     Monitor thermistor temperature readings. Temperatures should be within 4o C of each other.

2.     Check connection to Handpiece Loop Thermistor.  Verifiy Thermistors are good and at same values.

001- 15 System Flashlamp thermal sensor disconnected or temperature between two thermistors greater than 4o C. 1.     Let the system cool down.

2.     Restart the system.

3.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Monitor thermistor temperature readings. Temperatures should be within 4o C of each other.

2.     Check connection to Flashlamp Loop Thermistor.  Verify thermistors are good and at same values.

001- 16 Internal ThermoController driver circuitry has excessive current. 1.     Restart the system.

2.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Check Fan wiring and connector.

2.     Ensure Fans are free moving.

3.     Replace fan assembly.

4.     Check ThermoController board.

5.     Replace power supply module.

001- 17 Internal ThermoController driver circuitry has excessive current. 1.     Restart the system.

2.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Check TEC resistance.

2.     Check TEC wiring.

3.     Check ThermoController Board.

4.     Replace TEC module.

001- 19 Internal Voltage loaded down. 1.     Restart the system.

1.     Measure +24vdc on ThermoController board.

001- 20 Internal Lamp Cooler temperature is beyond 50o C. 1.     Let the room cool down below 80o F.

2.     Ensure that the system has adequate space for air flow. Make sure that there are no air restrictions or blocked vents Let the system cool down.

3.     Restart the system.  Let system run without emitting light for 2 minutes.

4.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Check Lamp temperature with Debug Software.

2.     Check Heat Exchanger Fans operation.

3.     Check water flow rate.

4.     Check flashlamp water sensor.

5.     Check ThermoController.

6.     Replace power supply module.

001- 21 HP Level HP Level jumper on TEC is loose or not connected.  1.  Check (J7) HP Level jumper on TEC board. Re-attach if loose or replace if broken.
001- 22 Handpiece cooltip water flow is restricted/low. 1.     Verify rear fluid bypass jumpers are connected properly.

2.     Fill reservoir with Palomar fluid.

3.     Ensure handpiece is properly seated.

4.     Change water filters.

5.     Try another hand piece.

6.     Call Palomar service.

1.   Check handpiece water flow rate.

2.   Check handpiece flow switch.

001- 23 Water Level is too low. 1.     Fill reservoir with Palomar fluid.

001- 24 Flashlamp water flow is restricted/low. 1.     Verify rear fluid bypass jumpers are connected properly.

2.     Fill reservoir with Palomar fluid.

3.     Ensure handpiece is properly seated.

4.     Change water filters.

1.     Check flashlamp water flow rate. .

1.     Check all connections to PFC board.

2.     Replace power supply module.

001- 46 Discharge resistor temperatures exceed 120o C. 1.     Ensure that the system has adequate space for air flow. Make sure that there are no air restrictions or blocked vents.

2.     Let the system cool down.

3.     Restart the system.  Let system run without emitting light for 2 minutes.

4.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Verify that temperature sensor is steady and reading at normal voltage.  If abnormal or unsteady, replace power supply module.
001- 47 Internal Charger voltage exceeds limits. 1.     Restart the system.

2.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Check Charger voltage output.  Voltage should be less than 410vdc.

2.     Replace power supply module.

001- 48 Internal Charger temperature exceeds 70o C. 1.     Ensure that the system has adequate space for air flow. Make sure that there are no air restrictions or blocked vents.

2.     Let the system cool

3.     Restart the system.  Let system run without emitting light for 2 minutes down.

4.     Call Palomar service.

1.     If temperature is unstable or operating abnormally replace power supply module.
001- 49 Internal Charger voltage exceeds limits. 1.     Restart the system.

2.     Call Palomar service.

1.     Verify PFC/Charger has latest revs.

2.     Call Palomar service.

001- 50 Internal Charger temperature sensor disconnected. 1.     Let the system cool down.

2.      Restart the system.

1.     If temperature is unstable or operating abnormally, replace power supply module.

001- 53 Handpiece coolptip water pressure is high. 1.     Verify rear fluid bypass jumpers are connected properly.

2.     Ensure handpiece is properly seated.

3.     Change water filters.

3.     Check/replace handpiece loop pressure switch.

Sw Closed = Pressure OK.

Sw Open = Pressure too high.

001- 54 Flashlamp water pressure is high. 1.     Verify rear fluid bypass jumpers are connected properly.

2.     Ensure handpiece is properly seated.
